What a noisy fire alarm!

It was a midnight. Phoebe was asleep when suddenly the fire alarm in the sitting-room started beeping. Phoebe got up and pulled out the fire alarm from the wall and put it on the table. When she was going back to  bed , " beep---" the fire alarm  beeped again. Phoebe was surprised. She turned back and took off the battery from the fire alarm. She thought it would not beep again, but it didn't turn out as she intended. The fire alarm still beeped. Phoebe was going  crazy! What's wrong with the fire alarm?

She sat down and held the fire alarm, and watched it carefully. She really wanted to find out what was happening. A few minutes passed by but she couldn't find anything. Suddenly she picked up a shoe and smashed the fire alarm.  This time Phoebe thought she could go back to her bed and have a sleep. But the fire alarm didn't let Phoebe to get away. It beeped again! Phoebe was really mad so she shouted at the fire alarm and wrapped it in a blanket. Then she went out and put it into the rubbish chute.

Phoebe tried to  go to sleep again, but the door bell rang half hour later. When Phoebe was going to open the door, she heard " beep---" again, "oh god, how can the fire alarm come back?!" Phoebe was shocked. She opened the door and a fireman stood ourside  with a package in his hand. It was Phoebe 's fire alarm! The fireman told Phoebe not to do that again and if she wanted to stop the beep, just push the button. But the button had been destroyed by Phoebe herself. She could do nothing to stop the fire alarm!

 All poor Phoebe could do was just put on her hat and earphones  and sing a song "Hey Micky". She sang and sang. It was very tiring for her, so she took off the hat and earphones. She thought the beeping was better for her.

What a great Health Expo!

It was a great day we had at the Health Expo!

Every classmate brought special food and I also brought special Chinese tea. All the  food was placed on a long table. People who wanted to taste the delicious food just needed to pay $2-$5. Apart from the food stall, there was also a lot of  health information. There was information about health insurance, dentist, fitness classes, etc.. I was interested in health insurance and kids swimming classes.

All the classmates bought the raffle tickets, but only Thioro and Tammy won  prizes. They were so lucky!
I really enjoyed  this Health Expo. It not only brought us a lot  of  health information but also  helped me to practise my English. I liked it!

a nice Easter holiday

I continued to study in the Easter holiday, but it was for the driving knowledge not for English.
Having lived in Australia for 10 months, I realized that it's very inconvenient  not to have a driving licence. I can't go  shopping without a car. I can't go out with my son on a  rainy day. I have to spend more time waiting for a bus,etc..
So this holiday,  I went to the Kogarah Library to do some driving knowledge practise each morning after I brought my son to the child care centre . And I also did the practise tests  a few times before I went to bed each night.
Though I studied hard I still couldn't miss the famous Royal Easter Show. It was Easter Friday, and we went to the show in the morning. We arrived at about 12pm. The first show we saw was the entertainment by the Toyota V6 Hilux Heroes Precision Driving Team in the Main Arena. I've never seen such  amazing car entertainment before! How can they do that? So exciting!
 Then we went to see the display of animals. There were so many sheep, pigs, cattle,chickens. My son liked to touch the animals. It was  the first time he could see and touch the animals so close. He  really enjoyed that. Another favourite activity for the boy was sliding down  huge slides. He played on it with his dad and he never felt scared. We had a nice day and went home at about 4pm.

I think it was a nice holiday for me.

Weekend

My husband had so much over time working  these past few weeks, so it was once again a weekend just for my son and me. It was good weather yesterday, so I took my son out. First we took a bus to Rockdale station. Then we bought a Family Fun Day ticket and took a train to Hurstville. My son really enjoyed the trip on the train. He looked  very excited. When we arrived in Hurstville, it was about 12pm, so I bought a McDonald Happy Meal for my son as lunch.  He likes the chips very much. Then we walked around  Westfield shopping centre. We went home at 2.30pm.
It was a very boring weekend for me but a enjoyable weekend for my son. He had been on a bus and a train, and eaten some yummy chips! I think he won't even mind if we do the same things next weekend!

Summary of Counsellor's talk

There are 4 counsellors at St. George TAFE. They offer service to all the enrolled students. The Counsellors give advice on course decision, career options, educational pathway, and they also offer personal counselling. Other services include linking the student up to the government system, providing information to go to university, career planning, etc. If a student wants to make an appoitment with the counsellors, they can go to building A or phone. All the service are one to one and confidential.

My first Valentine's Day in Australia

It was the Valentine's Day morning, when I wake up, I found my little valentine were still asleep. The long eyelashes, pink lips, what a cute angel. The angel seems to know I was looking on him, he opened his eye slowly with a smile, and said to me: mumy, mumy...... I felt this smile were sweeter than every rose or chocolate, it's the best Valentine's Day gift for me.

New term 2011

Hi, everyone,
My name is Candy, came from Guangzhou China. It was the eighth month since I been in Sydney, everything were become to settle down. I knew some  friends in the class last term, I am so happy about that. I hope I will have more friends this term.
